Dear Yo La,
The other night I must have fallen asleep w/ your cd on and I had a dream of the 3 of you playing/singing Tom Petty's song, "A Room At The Top Of The World" (I think that's what's it's called) From his album ECHO. When I woke up it seemed like a pleasant dream and I could picture you all doing that song. In my head I can almost hear Georgia and Ira's voices singing that part "I got a room at the ......."

I just wanted to tell you guys that I fell asleep listening to "The Sounds Of The Sounds Of Science" and I had the most incredible/fascinating/wonderful/intense lucid dream of my life.

These arrived within two days of each other. Sleeping pill, indeed! Roll over, Sominex, and tell

Do you think Mike Piazza's gay?

I sincerely hope so.

And how do you calculate a slugging percentage?

As another glorious baseball season nears its close, perhaps it's time for this column and its correspondents to focus on other matters. Not that we are averse to hot stove speculation, but it seems incontrovertible that the ratio of, say, baseball letters to Robby Benson letters is way out of whack. So—and I send this out not just to Bob, and in fact apologize for singling him out—I don't want the fact of this reply, which is TB÷AB, to distract from or undercut in any way the larger message that we seek a more varied discourse.
