John Francis Daly / Nicholas Brendon

As I write, "Kitchen Confidential" hasn't been cancelled yet.  [UPDATE: Now it has.]  It's not such a bad show, really . . . well . . . ok, it doesn't stand a chance.  I can't help defending it a little since the auxiliary cast includes John Francis Daly (Sam Weir from "F&G") and Nicholas Brendon, aka lovable old Xander from "Buffy."  Daly's all grown up and barely recognizable, and he does a good job as the gullible new guy in the kitchen, and Xander is funny as his senior and occasional tormentor.  An Extremely Handsome Actor is cast in the Anthony Bourdain role; it's like when James Brolin appears as "P.W." in Pee-wee's Big Adventure, except, you know, that was great.  Guess the Bourdain look is a little too corpse-y for a prime time sitcom.  It's not a complete wipeout, but what a drag to watch such talented actors have to put a smile on boring, empty, unfunny material.  Except for Frank Langella, of course, you can't fuck with Frank.
