"How I Met Your Mother" is a new sitcom on CBS, and it features a major post-"Freaks"/"Buffy" matchup.  It stars Jason Segel (stoned, sensitive drummer Nick from "F&G") and one of my two borderline-healthy TV crushes of all time, Alyson Hannigan ("Buffy"'s Willow Rosenberg).  And as the wisecracking ladies' man, none other than Doogie Motherfucking Howser himself, Neil Patrick Harris!  Boo-yaa!  It's cute, dull, sappy poo.  No amount of flashbacks / voiceovers / split-screens / CGI'd dinosaurs could spice this thing up.  What a drag to watch these two—who played such deep, complex characters on their old shows—have to put a smile on boring, empty, unfunny material.  Except for Doogie, of course, that guy's golden.
